Practical information
Practical information:
We will meet in Shiva in Tara Yoga Centre.
Yoga is an ancient system originating in India that encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual practices designed to promote union and harmony between body, mind, and spirit. The term itself comes from the Sanskrit word meaning “union”, symbolizing the integration of an individual’s consciousness with universal consciousness. The ultimate aim of yoga is self-realization, a state of liberation (moksha) and inner freedom, though it is also widely practiced for health, stress relief, and mental well-being.
Common Ground Between Traditional Thai Head Massage & Ayurvedic Head Massage: Ayurvedic head massage is more oil-based, nurturing, and medicinal, while Thai head massage is more energetic, pressure-point and movement-based.
-
Ancient Roots: Both are centuries-old healing arts rooted in traditional medicine systems. Thai massage is influenced by Ayurveda, Buddhism and Chinese medicine, while Ayurvedic massage is integral to the Vedic tradition of India.
-
Holistic Philosophy: Both see the body, mind and spirit as interconnected, aiming not only to ease physical tension but also to restore balance and vital energy (prana in Ayurveda, lom/energy lines in Thai tradition).
-
Focus on the Head & Upper Body: Both prioritise the head, scalp, neck and shoulders, areas that hold stress, mental tension and energetic blockages.
-
Touch & Pressure Techniques: Both use rhythmic pressure, massage strokes, and stimulation of energy points to release stagnation and improve circulation.
-
Healing Props: Oils are central in Ayurveda. Thai head massage may use oils too, but sometimes works dry, with focus on pressure points, stretches and energy lines.
-
Relaxation & Energy Flow: Both promote relaxation, nervous system regulation, and enhanced energy flow leading to clarity, rejuvenation and emotional balance.
-
Ceremonial & Ritualistic Element: Both were traditionally performed with a sense of sacredness as an offering of healing, not just a technique.
What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a vibrational healing journey where the soothing resonance of instruments such as crystal bowls gently guides the body and mind into deep relaxation. The sound waves calm the nervous system, release stagnant energy, and restore natural harmony, leaving you refreshed, centred, and renewed.
What to wear?
Choose clothing that allows free movement. Dressing in light layers is recommended, so you can adjust to your comfort.
Shoes are left outside the practice room (Tara Yoga policy). Barefoot is best for the workshop, though socks are welcome if preferred.

I really enjoyed the retreat! This was my first time attending a multi-day retreat—I’ve done day retreats before, but spending three days here at Nanpantan Hall has been an incredible experience.
I feel like I’m taking so much away from this for my own self-healing. I’ve had some healing done in the past, but this retreat has really deepened my journey, and I’m inspired to continue exploring my spiritual path.
I loved every single topic we covered—from Reiki and head massage to the theory behind everything. I took lots of notes, which I know I’ll refer back to. The venue was absolutely beautiful, and the food was amazing. Everything was presented so well, at just the right pace.
Before coming, I felt quite heavy, but after each session, I felt lighter, more relaxed, and at peace. It’s been such a transformative experience. Thank you!
When I first saw the itinerary, I felt a bit daunted—it looked intense. Waking up at 6 AM was a challenge, and I was probably the only one who came down in pajamas! But as the retreat unfolded, I realized just how powerful, transformative, and well-balanced the experience was.
The morning yoga unexpectedly opened up deep emotions, leaving me feeling unsettled at first, but I soon understood it was part of the process—a mix of deep healing, physical challenge, and emotional release. The blend of intensive learning, hands-on experiences, and quiet moments for reflection was invaluable. Those “breaks” weren’t just pauses—they were moments of integration and healing.
From an educational perspective, this was some of the best teaching I’ve ever experienced. The accessibility, the way information was delivered, and the openness to questions made learning effortless. The ability to weave concepts in multiple ways ensured that everyone could grasp them at their own level.
Leaving this space is bittersweet. I feel emotionally full, energized, and deeply integrated in a way I didn’t expect. It feels like the culmination of a 12-13 month journey, rounding things off while also opening new doors. More than anything, I now understand the ‘why’ behind healing practices—not just what to do, but how it connects and impacts life.
This retreat has encouraged self-responsibility, reminding me that while we can share healing, we also have the power to cultivate it within ourselves. The food was absolutely incredible (maybe a little too much pizza because it was that good!), and overall, this has been a phenomenal weekend.
Having been through so much in the past year, I can confidently say you are one of the best facilitators I’ve learned from—this was an exceptional experience. Thank you!
My name is Seema, and I’ve attended the retreat this weekend. Before coming here, I felt a sense of loneliness—I’m living by myself at the moment and felt the need to connect—with people, with nature, and with something deeper. Being here, I’ve truly been able to achieve that, while also learning new skills, some of which really surprised me!
We learned Reiki, spiritual healing, and massage techniques, and I was amazed at how naturally it all came to me. I also gained a deeper understanding of the theory behind healing, spirituality, and Ayurveda. But beyond that, the most special part has been connecting with everyone, sharing experiences, and learning not just from the sessions but from each other.
One of the biggest takeaways for me is having a renewed sense of purpose—understanding how to support others, communicate my needs, and help in ways that feel truly meaningful. This retreat has shown me that healing isn’t just about personal growth; it’s about uplifting those around you too.
This experience has introduced me to a beautiful, alternative, and spiritual way of healing—one that brings enlightenment not just to yourself but to those you wish to help. Thank you!
Attending the retreat with Hari over the weekend has been an eye-opening experience. I came in expecting a relaxing and healing weekend, which it absolutely was—but with the added bonus of learning powerful techniques that I can use to support myself, my family, and my loved ones.
These skills feel particularly valuable as I navigate how to help those around me who are going through bereavement, stress, or physical and mental challenges. Having the ability to offer even a small sense of relief to others is truly life-changing.
This retreat also gave me incredible insight into Reiki and how powerful energy work can be. I didn’t expect to gain as much knowledge as I did, but I’ve come away inspired, enlightened, and with half a notepad filled with notes!
Beyond the teachings, the peaceful and safe environment at the retreat made all the difference. Normally, in such a large building, I might feel anxious at night, but here, I felt completely at ease. The setting was comforting, the views were breathtaking, and the entire space felt like a sanctuary for learning and healing.
And I have to mention the incredible food! As someone who follows a vegan diet, it’s rare to experience such variety and depth of flavors. The catering was absolutely exceptional, and I know many others felt the same.
This retreat has also encouraged me to look deeper within myself. It’s made me realize the importance of inner work, aligning my lifestyle with my true self, and continuing my personal healing journey.
This was my first-ever weekend retreat, and I can say with certainty—it won’t be my last. I will absolutely be at the next one!
Thank you!
This was my second retreat with you, and it was completely different from the first—more days, more learning, and a deeper experience overall. I didn’t expect to learn so much, especially about Reiki, Tantric wisdom, and head massage techniques. Some of it felt like a beautiful reminder of things I had learned before, but this time, I absorbed them on a much deeper level.
One of the biggest surprises for me was the ritual last night. Before that, I felt somewhat reserved, exchanging friendly greetings but not truly connecting. But after the ceremony, something shifted—I felt a deep, undeniable connection with everyone. I saw people in a new light; their energy, essence, and true selves became so visible. Seeing that transformation in others was profound and unforgettable.
Another big takeaway for me was the food—it was absolutely incredible! Every meal was so nourishing and delicious, yet it didn’t feel like we were eating ‘Sattvic food’ in a restrictive way. Talking to the chef, I learned that these meals can easily be incorporated into everyday life, and that’s something I’ll definitely take on board.
I also loved how everyone was on their own journey, at different levels of self-healing and self-realization, yet we all came together to learn from one another. The group felt so close and supportive, and the way the retreat was structured made the experience flow beautifully.
I truly appreciate the time, effort, and energy that went into creating such a transformative experience. For me, the biggest lesson has been seeing people in a completely different light—beyond the surface, into their true essence.
Thank you so much for this experience!
For me, it was truly eye-opening. It felt like I was being taken to a whole new level, especially during the transfiguration ceremony. After that experience, I genuinely felt like I had progressed to a higher level in my journey.
I also feel that this retreat is going to deeply support my learning and growth. The location has been incredible—walking around the beautiful grounds has been such a peaceful and enriching experience.
I would definitely come again, and I’d love to explore an advanced retreat in the future. Thank you!
I really enjoyed the retreat! When I first arrived, I felt a little reserved because there were a lot of new faces, and I hadn’t had the chance to meet or connect with anyone before. But as the days went on, I started to open up more and got to know people better, which made everything feel easier and more natural. I felt like I could truly be myself, and in turn, people got to understand me better too.
Overall, it’s been a great weekend—very easygoing, with plenty of space to take in the information, reflect, and just be present. The balance between learning and downtime was really well thought out, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
The ceremony last night was something completely different for me. I’ve never experienced anything like it before. At first, I felt a little out of place, being the only man in the room, but once I let go of my thoughts and became fully present in the moment, I was able to see everyone for who they truly are, beyond the surface. The experience turned inward, and that’s what made it so powerful for me.
As for the food, I’m not usually accustomed to eating this way, but it was absolutely delicious—homemade, nourishing, and full of Sattvic energy. I definitely ate more than I usually would, but I was more than happy with that!
This retreat has been a beautiful experience, and I’m really grateful for it.
